Verizon iPhone is a Done Deal, Bloomberg Says
I hope this is true. Not that I can jump AT&T’s ship anytime soon, but the more people with iPhones, the more people I can communicate with for free (face time, ping!, and other apps). Also, it will lighten the load on AT&T’s pathetic network, and put Verizon’s to the test. After my contract is up, I will decide which carrier based on those tests. Yay competition!
Bring it on!

The Associated Press: IPhone insurance now available, but too expensive?
This is a brilliant scam and I wish I had thought of it. The best part is that people are actually buying these policies! idiots.

Here’s a little video I made from videos and pictures from last summer. Just comparing Reel Director’s iPhone app to the features iMovie is said to have.
Also, don’t forget to press the little circle “futbol” button to make it feel like you’re at the world cup. An addition to YouTube for a limited time. You’ll have to watch it on youtube to see the futbol button.
Opt out of Apple’s iAd location tracking
From your mobile device (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch), go to oo.apple.com and you will be opted out of iAd tracking.
Thanks Mark for the tip.
iPhone iOS4
I installed iOS4 this morning, and have been playing around with it on and off all day. Here are some of my thoughts:
Folders - This is cool and easy to use, however there is a 12 app limit to each folder. This requires me to have 2 games folders (and I would have more, but I deleted some games I never ever play to prevent that). Also, the icons are ugly. It would be cool to have some different icons to choose from.
Multi-Tasking - The interface is cool, however, when exiting an app, it automatically keeps it running in the background. In order to close it, you have to double click, hold down the icon until it wiggles, then hit the red close circle. This is annoying. It would be better to double click while you’re in the app to initialize backgrounding, instead of it happening on its own. I have found myself constantly closing background apps after I realized I had about 10 running at the same time. Boo.
Unified Inbox - This is nice. I am liking this. As for grouping emails into threads, I’m not sure I like it yet. I’m keeping it enabled to form an opinion. I’m glad to finally have multiple exchange accounts!
Camera - The camera is working faster now, though I don’t love the digital zoom. Digital zoom does not create clear photos, they are blurred. I’m hoping it’s not as bad with the iPhone 4 because it has 5mp to work with instead of 3. We shall see.
iBooks - I like iBooks, but I don’t know how often I’ll use it. I like having a book in hand, and am in a phase of wanting to own books that I love. If I had an iPad, I’d be more likely to use it. I think it will be more of a “I’m bored waiting at the Dr’s office” app instead of a “I’m going on a plane ride” app.
Wallpaper - I like having whatever background I want on the home screen. It’d be cool to assign different backgrounds for each page.
Double Click - I had the double click set to bring up my camera, and now it brings up multi-tasking. It is going to take me a while to get used to that. The iPhone no longer allows any other option for the double click. The triple click is still reserved for Accessibility options, which is also annoying. I’m not blind or anything, so maybe can I have the triple click at least?
That wraps up my analysis. All whining and complaining aside, I like iOS 4. They have a little work to do obviously, but when isn’t that the case?
Showdown: iPhone 4 vs. HTC Evo 4G | Gadget Lab
What they don’t mention is the HTC has an HDMI out… It looks pretty sweet. Too bad Sprint service sucks here. Plus, 4G is only available in 30 markets. Not only is my mountain town not on the map, but neither is Denver. We’ll see how fast they spread 4G. I have almost a year to decide. Stupid AT&T.

iPhone New Upgrade Eligibility Requirements
For those of you that already have an iPhone, you may qualify to get a new one at the subsidized price, even if you aren’t eligible for an upgrade.
I, however, am not. AT&T only moved up the upgrade dates for users paying full price. In my case, that means my phone doesn’t qualify as it is an add-on to a family plan.
I’m hoping apple releases an iPhone on Verizon in fall so I can tell AT&T to fuck themselves once and for all. I would have willingly signed a new 2-year contract, but now I’m just pissed as usual at AT&T.
I will most definitely give them an earful, I need to mentally prepare for the phone call.
